Distributing Flyers & Promotional Materials

Any flyers or promotional materials shared with students or staff at any Chesterfield County Public School facility must go through a review process for approval.

If you wish to share information with students and/or staff at a school, please provide the following information:

  • flyer or promotional material
  • name of the group/organization/individual
  • a short explanation of why the information is expected to be useful for staff and/or students

Email this information to flyers@ccpsnet.net. Review could take up to five business days.

If approved for dissemination, the flyer may be shared at school front office counters, in teacher lounge areas or sent home in student backpacks.

Flyer approval process

School Board policy 4090 addresses materials carried home with students. In part, the policy states: The School Board shall permit printed instruction- and school-related materials to be carried home by students when such materials are prepared and/or sponsored by the School Board, the school system, the school, a school division employee acting in his or her official capacity (provided that the printed material is related directly to instruction), a PTA or PTO organization, a booster club, or other school organization. In addition, the School Board shall permit materials to be carried home by students when such materials are prepared and/or sponsored by the Chesterfield County government.

Flyers or promotional materials must align with the three categories detailed in policy 4090 (schools, PTA/PTO/school groups, county government).

Flyers are reviewed based on criteria in School Board policy 4090 (shown above). If the criteria are met, a flyer will receive an approval stamp that details the ways in which the flyer has been approved to be shared. This could include sharing at school front office counters, in teacher lounge areas or sent home in student backpacks. Once approved, the principal must also give permission to share the flyer in their school. The group/organization/individual must provide all of the printed copies needed. At this time, approval of a digital flyer is not part of the process.
