Winterpock has many activities that provide students with positive experiences that help them to become well-rounded individuals! Our entire school community has the opportunity to participate in school wide STEAM projects, Kindness week activities, grade level musical performances, Thoughtful Thursdays and Kid Heart Challenge! We have several other activities students may be chosen to be a part of: Fine Arts Festival, BOB, Safety Patrols, and STEAMmania. These activities provide a sense of pride and school spirit.
Fifth graders have the opportunity to be in our Safety Patrol program. Our Safety Patrols play an important role each morning at our school. Their presence in the car loop, bus loop, and hallways insures that our students come into the building safely. They are always there to lend a helping hand, give a friendly smile and greeting, and remind others of important safety rules.
The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun and exciting event where your student learns about their heart while helping others by raising money for the American Heart Association. It prepares your child for success through physical and emotional well-being. Kids learn jump rope skills, how their heart works and raise money to help kids with special hearts. Have fun, learn how to stay healthy and make a difference in the lives of others!
The School Counseling department sponsors Kindness and Collaboration week in February. Students will use their Pack Meeting time to learn about essential collaboration skills such as active listening, giving feedback kindly, and compromising.
Fifth grade students at Winterpock Elementary are presented an opportunity to participate in an exciting and motivational literature program entitled Battle of the Books. The intent of the program is to encourage recreational reading, to increase familiarity with authors and genres, and to have students experience the fun of a friendly competition as they recall information from each book. This program is voluntary and all fifth graders may participate.
