Mu Alpha Theta, which partners with professional mathematics organizations, including the Mathematical Association of America, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics is an organization whose purpose is the promotion of scholarship in, and enjoyment and understanding of, mathematics among high school students. The club offers students a chance to connect with link-minded individuals and gain access to valuable resources that can help them achieve their math goals.
Twice a month after school in room 338.
There is an initial application process and an initial national membership fee of $10 to be registered with the National Mu Alpha Theta Honors Society. Members must have completed the equivalent of two years of college preparatory mathematics, including Algebra 2 and/or Geometry, and have completed or are enrolled in a third year of college preparatory mathematics. On the 4 point grading scale, members must have at least a 3.0 math grade point average.
