In Virginia, the Unified Sports high-school program fulfills the Unified Champion Schools requirements. Students compete on interscholastic track and field teams composed of approximately equal numbers of students with and without intellectual disabilities.
The club will participate in bocce in the fall, cheer in the winter and track and field in the spring. The club will have one social meeting a month. The club will meet twice a week after school for practice during the fall and spring. The club will meet after school once a month in Mrs. Thompson’s room 308. During the fall bocce season the club will meet in a grassy area on campus. Cheer will meet and practice in the lower commons after school. During the spring track and field season they will meet on the track after school.
Membership is open to any currently enrolled Monacan High School students. Membership is open to students with and without intellectual disabilities.
