Clubs

The Lancer Ladies Club was founded in 2015 by Ms. Pamela Lundy and Mrs. Melodie Henderson to provide female students a safe place to feel accepted, empowered, encouraged, and inspired as they discover their voices. The Lancer Ladies club focuses on the total student and promotes leadership, academic achievement, and self-love among our female students in grades nine through twelve. Our club symbol is the orange tulip and pearls. Orange tulips represent self-love, and pearls symbolize sophistication, class, and unselfishness in dedicating our every effort toward uplifting, embracing, and empowering our female students.

The SMART mentor team is a group of upperclassmen (juniors and seniors) who help the incoming class of Freshman adjust to high school and show them the Lancer Way. This is a wonderful team to be a part of! Are you interested in giving back to MHS? What better way to make a difference than by helping new students feel welcome and ready for high school.

The National English Honor Society promotes a love of language, both written and spoken, within our school and surrounding community.

Mu Alpha Theta is the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society. We are dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school. We also support our math department with tutoring and support.

Students will meet with one or both of the librarians several times during the school year to serve as consultants. They will provide suggestions and feedback on most if not all aspects of the library program. This group is for students who are interested in assisting the library staff in fulfilling the mission of the library program, which is “to empower students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users/creators of information in a global environment.”

The Lancer Lunatics were established in the Fall of 2006 as the official Spirit Boosters of Manchester High School Athletics.

Students meet to knit, learn to knit, or engage in other yarn-related crafts (crocheting, weaving, etc.). Students may bring their own materials, but are not required to do so. Instruction and materials are usually available.

German Club members celebrate the language and culture of German speaking countries.

French Club celebrates all things French! We’ll delve into the cultures, art, food, holidays and customs of the Francophone world! You do NOT have to be a French student to join the French Club!

Members create short films to compete in our local film festival Lancervision and the statewide VHSL Film Festival. Members plan, write, film, act in, and market short films with traditional stories, experimental films, animations, commercials, and documentaries.
