My goal for middle school soccer players is to come together and gel as a team. Most student-athletes that make the soccer team play for other clubs outside of the school; this comes with its challenges. These soccer players may be accustomed to playing in a different position than what I want them to play in. The coaching or formations may be different at their other club – so this can be an adjustment. Most important however, all of these and other factors must be addressed in order to create a new team that is selfless, open to new coaching, and is filled with a roster of players that support one another.
The boys soccer teams play 12 regular-season matches, followed by playoffs. The seeding for the playoffs is determined by how each team finishes the regular season in the table based on points. Typically, matches are played throughout the season on Tuesdays and Thursdays (all matches begin at 3 p.m. and typically end around 4:30 p.m.), with practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (from 2:05 to 3:45 p.m.). The boys season lasts from August through October.
Tryouts for the boys 2026 season will begin Aug. 31 and last until Sept. 14. The first match of the season is to be determined.
In order to try out for the soccer team, student-athletes MUST have BOTH physical and concussion forms completed and on file with the school. These forms can be found on the DCMS website and also uploaded on the website once completed. Student-athletes without this information completed will NOT be able to tryout.
Tryouts for the boys soccer team will begin on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026 and from 2:05-4:30 p.m. ; rides must be secured and student-athletes are expected to be picked up promptly after each tryout session they are a part of.
Tryouts will be done by grade level at first. Each student-athlete will initially have to prove they can run one-mile around the track without stopping. Student-athletes that stop running at any point will automatically be cut and will not be allowed to continue with tryouts.
Tryouts for the boys soccer season will be held at Deep Creek Middle School. The soccer field is located directly behind the school building.
The boys tryout schedule for 2026:
First team practice for the DCMS soccer team: Sept. 14 at Deep Creek Middle School from 2:05- 4 p.m. Once the matches start, practice times will be from 2:05 to 3:45 p.m.
