As a JROTC cadet you are embarking on one of the most interesting and valuable educational experience of your high school career. In JROTC you will be given the chance to participate in your education and will learn to be a better citizen. We understand that good citizenship is our goal and responsibility, and these are our watchwords. The program provides you with tools and skills you can use to succeed in high school but far more important these tools and skills will be useful for the remainder of your life.<\/p>

The Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is a program offered to high schools that teaches students (Cadets) character educations, student achievement, wellness, leadership, and diversity. Collectively, these lessons motivate students (Cadets) to better citizens. In addition to promoting citizenship, JROTC also prepares students (Cadets) for college.<\/p>

JROTC Mission:<\/strong>\u00a0To motivate young people to be better citizens<\/p>

JROTC Vision:\u00a0<\/strong>JROTC will provide a quality citizenship, character, and leadership development program, while fostering partnerships with communities and educational institutions.<\/p>

The Army JROTC Curriculum:\u00a0<\/strong>The JROTC curriculum, which fully or partially addresses a number of national academic standards \u2013 to include Common Core State Standards (CC<\/p>

More important that \u201cwhat\u201d is learned in JROTC is \u201chow\u201d it is learned. Every classroom is equipped with leading edge technologies to teach, assess, and report student (Cadet) progress. We are trained to utilize a range of technologies and develop social\/emotional skills, support academic content through gaming and simulations, and promote the role of social media. Thus, students (Cadets) engage in meaningful, purposeful activities that lead them to demonstrate success through a portfolio of accomplishments. SS) \u2013 includes course work on leadership, civics, geography and global awareness, health, and wellness, language arts, life skills, and U.S. history. The curriculum is based on the principles of performance-based, learner-centered education and promotes development of core abilities: capacity for life-long learning, communication, responsibility for actions and choices, good citizenship, respectful treatment of others, and critical thinking techniques.<\/p>

  • In addition to a typical JROTC curriculum, Cadets may have the opportunity to participate in a number of co-curricular activities offered by JROTC:
    JROTC Leadership Challenge and Academic Bowl (JLAB): a competitive program that imparts values of leadership and citizenship while preparing for higher education milestones like college entrance exams.<\/li>
  • JROTC Raider Challenge: A competitive program for JROTC Cadets in five different fitness and skill events.<\/li>
  • Air Rifle Competitions: Marksmanship programs that promote teamwork, self-confidence and marksmanship skills.<\/li>
