In partnership with families, staff, and the community, school counselors provide a developmental program that addresses students\u2019 academic, emotional\/social and career development needs.<\/p>\n Dale:<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>The following school counseling services are available to all Thomas Dale High School students:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Academic counseling which assist students and their parents in acquiring knowledge of the curricula choices available to students, planning a program of studies, arranging and interpreting academic testing, and seeking post-secondary academic opportunities.<\/li><li>Career counseling which help students acquire information and plan actions about work, apprenticeships, and post-secondary educational career opportunities.<\/li><li>Personal\/social counseling which assist students in developing an understanding of themselves, resolving conflict and defining individual goals that reflect their interest, abilities and aptitudes.<\/li><li>Parents may choose to opt their child out of any or all counseling services by sending a letter to the school principal.<\/li><li>Parents may review any or all provided as a resource to help our TD Knights determine the next step in their journey following graduation. Students are able to visit the Center to explore different colleges and other career options. Military information and SAT\/ACT test dates and registration information is also available in the Career Center.<\/p><p><strong>College Visits<\/strong><\/p><p>College Admissions Representatives from various colleges will schedule visits, here, at Thomas Dale HS to meet with interested students to discuss college opportunities, requirements, etc. These sessions are for Juniors and Seniors ONLY, and students must register at least one day prior to the visit. The college sessions are an excellent opportunity for our students to speak, individually, with a college representative. If the student is unable to attend, they can stop by the Main Campus College and Career Center for more information.
