As a proud Chesterfield County Public School graduate, I sought to give back to my community through education. My journey began as a classroom teacher at Peabody Middle School, followed by roles as a classroom and Title I Reading Teacher at Chalkley Elementary, and a classroom teacher at Robious Elementary, teaching grades K-5. In 2019, I earned my M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia and took on the roles of Dean and Assistant Principal at Winterpock Elementary School. When the chance came to help open a new elementary school in the community I cherish, I eagerly embraced it. For the past three years, I have been honored to serve as one of your assistant principals and look forward to continuing to serve you and your families as the proud principal of Moseley ES.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Alison Sheppard, Assistant Principal<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Mrs. Sheppard has come to serve as Moseley Elementary\u2019s Assistant Principal with 21 years of experience in education. She has taught all across the state of Virginia serving in grades K-3 in Chesapeake, Newport News, and Chesterfield County Public Schools and as a Dean of Students at Marguerite Christian Elementary. Mrs. Sheppard first earned her bachelor\u2019s degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Education in 2003 from James Madison University and went on to complete her leadership training at the University of Virginia with a Masters in Administration and Supervision. It is her mission to inspire a love for learning and provide a place where your child feels safe, supported, and important.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

I am happy to be joining the Moseley Mustang Herd! Education has been my passion since I was a child, and this year marks my tenth year in education. I previously worked at the middle and high school levels in Henrico County and Petersburg City Public Schools where I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year in 2020. Most recently, I served as the Dean of Students at Reams Road Elementary School for the past three years.<\/p>

I am a strong advocate for lifelong learning, which is reflected in my educational background. I graduated from VCU with a bachelor\u2019s in history. I then attended Mary Baldwin College for my teaching license. Inspired by my school leaders, I went back to school for a master\u2019s in educational leadership at the University of Richmond, graduating in 2019. This spring, I graduated from VCU with my doctorate in educational leadership.<\/p>

In my free time, I enjoy training in martial arts. I hold rank in Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and a second-degree Black belt in Judo, and I coach VCU\u2019s judo team. I love cooking for my friends and family and trying new restaurants around town. I watch a bunch of movies and TV shows; Star Wars and Count of Monte Cristo<\/em> are my all-time favorites.<\/p>

As educators, our role is to inspire students through our experiences and to nurture a love of lifelong learning. As B.B.
