As guided by the ASCA National Model, the ultimate objective is to assist students in identifying their interests and skills, enhance productivity, responsibility, self-expression, healthy decision-making and conflict-resolution skills along with other competencies that will remediate students deficits, strengthen their unique capabilities and enable our students to participate as contributing members to society.<\/p>\n      \t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"uc_content_tabs_elementor_d47cd45_item2\" class=\"tab-container panes\">\n\t<div>\n                <p><strong>Counselors can help students with<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>academic planning and educational progress;<\/li><li>concerns that interfere with learning;<\/li><li>ability to cope with pressures;<\/li><li>test results and what they mean;<\/li><li>various school programs and community opportunities; and<\/li><li>college planning and technical training beyond high school.<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Chesterfield school counselors<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>are trained to work with parents, students, and other school staff members;<\/li><li>work with students individually and in groups to help resolve problems that interfere with learning;<\/li><li>support students with special needs and may serve as a member of the child study team;<\/li><li>coordinate gifted program opportunities;<\/li><li>offer crisis intervention and prevention;<\/li><li>maintain contact with and make appropriate referrals to various community and social agencies;<\/li><li>provide information about community and other resources;<\/li><li>plan and coordinate various schoolwide programs for students and parents; and<\/li><li>help students explore options regarding college, work, and vocational training.<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Counselors focus on SUCCESS by<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>facilitating the transitions from elementary school to middle school to high school to post-secondary
