I am honored to serve as the new principal of Meadowbrook HS. \u00a0 Meadowbrook is fortunate to have great students, teachers, staff members, and parents and I am truly excited about becoming part of the Monarch family.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

As an educator, I have worked in a number of settings on the middle and high school levels. My commitment to servant leadership, equity, and change agency has remained constant and I look forward to serving our students, families, faculty and staff at Meadowbrook High School.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

As I work to become part of the Meadowbrook family, I am committed to listening, looking and learning <\/strong>to collaboratively build on the great things that are part of the culture and fabric of our school.\u00a0 Collaboration is key to the success of a school, and I welcome your input, perspectives, and solutions, as we work to move Meadowbrook High School toward a shared vision of excellence this year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

There will be many opportunities to collaborate and support our vision and our goals this year, and I encourage you to get involved with our school in the interest of supporting our learners\u00a0 and the larger Meadowbrook community.<\/p>

Ms. Frias is excited and honored to serve as your bilingual assistant principal this school year. As a CCPS graduate of the Spanish Immersion Program at Manchester High School, she believes and values culture, inclusion, infinite learning, and supporting the whole child.\u00a0 She attended VCU\u00a0 where she earned two Bachelor\u2019s Degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish language.\u00a0 She has earned a Master\u2019s Degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University and then an Educational Specialist (EdS) degree in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Tech.\u00a0 Before becoming an assistant principal, she taught elementary school then IB Spanish.<\/p>

Why Statement<\/strong>:\u00a0I love inspiring young lives and helping students to grow. An essential aspect of instruction for me has been forming meaningful relationships and making learning relevant for students.\u00a0 I firmly believe in creating a \u201cfan club\u201d for each student, and that ALL students CAN learn with the right support from their fan club.<\/p>

Mr. Harden, a proud alumnus of Meadowbrook High School, is honored to return as the Dean of Students. He brings extensive experience as a mental health professional, exceptional education teacher, student support teacher, and behavioral coach. Mr. Harden’s academic background includes a Bachelor\u2019s in Computer Information Systems from Virginia State University, a K-12 Exceptional Education Certification from Virginia Union University, a Master\u2019s in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University, and a Graduate Certificate in School Administration and Supervision. With 12 years of experience educating students in Henrico County, Virginia, Mr. Harden offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.<\/p>

Why Statement: <\/strong>\u00a0I am dedicated to fostering student growth by cultivating trusting and transparent relationships with students, staff, and the community. These connections enable us to amplify students’ voices and create a collaborative learning environment. My passion lies in guiding and motivating students to become their best selves, both academically and as active community members. Mrs. May is honored to continue to serve as Assistant Principal to the Meadowbrook High School community. A native of western New York, Mrs. May earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education from SUNY Fredonia, and her Master of Science degree in Special Education from St. John Fisher University. Mrs. May earned her Administration and Educational Leadership Endorsement from Longwood University. Mrs. May has been in education for 13 years, serving as a special education teacher and history teacher in Richmond Public Schools and Falling Creek Middle School. At Meadowbrook, Mrs. May has been a history teacher, PBIS Coach, and most recently, Dean of Students.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Why Statement<\/strong>: I want to be someone\u2019s Mrs. Urland (my 4th and 5th grade teacher) – she inspired me to work hard towards my goals, to continue to love learning new things, to problem solve and to always know that there is someone to lean on when the going gets tough. I want students to know that I am their biggest cheerleader, will offer support and encouragement, and will hold them accountable. Mr. Watkins is honored to reunite with the Meadowbrook family as an Assistant Principal. He brings with him years of experience as a mental health professional, coach, special education teacher, physical education instructor from grades Pre-K through 12, and a dean of students. He attended Virginia Union University and Grand Canyon University where he received his Bachelor’s in Special Education K-12 and General Curriculum K-8, and a Master\u2019s Degree in Administration, Supervision and Leadership. Mr. Watkins brings a diverse educational background, having taught at Meadowbrook High School, Amelia County High School, Colonial Heights High School, and Tussing Elementary School.<\/p>

Why Statement:<\/strong> I am passionate about instructing and inspiring students to be the best version of themselves as students and contributing members of the community. I strive to show our students that anything is possible if we are efficient and consistent in our goals and beliefs.<\/p>

Diamond Coleman is a proud graduate of Surry County High School. She attended Old Dominion University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2017, Master of Education in 2018, and Educational Specialist (EdS) degree in 2022. Mrs. Coleman began her career teaching 4th and 5th grade in Norfolk, VA, before serving as an assistant principal in Hampton, VA. Most recently, she served as the Dean of Students at Manchester High School. Mrs. Coleman brings a deep commitment to fostering both academic rigor and meaningful support. She believes that high expectations paired with care and resources, empower students to reach their full potential.<\/p>

Why Statement: I want to help bridge the gap between vision and action. I want to ensure that every initiative, resource, and conversation helps students thrive academically and emotionally. Mr. Jordan is excited to join the Meadowbrook High School community as Dean of Students. He brings over 15 years of experience in education, school operations, and student mentorship. His career includes teaching middle school mathematics in Chesterfield and Prince George Counties, where he also took on leadership roles in athletics and school logistics.<\/p>

Mr. Jordan holds a B.S. in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Math and Science, as well as a Master\u2019s in Educational Leadership\u2014both from Longwood University. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families, and for his talent in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments. His background also includes curriculum development, professional training, and instructional support across various educational settings.<\/p>

Dr. Barbara Bingham is honored to serve as Dean of Students at Meadowbrook High School. She began her career in Chesterfield County Public Schools in 2005 and has held a variety of roles including classroom teacher across multiple subjects, Instructional Designer, and principal of the district\u2019s SOL\/SAT Academy. Dr. Bingham brings a depth of experience in instructional leadership, student engagement, and school-wide program development to her role at Meadowbrook.<\/p>

Dr. Bingham earned her Bachelors of Arts in English from Longwood College, Masters of Curriculum and Instruction from Graceland University, her Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia, and her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Organizational Innovation from Marymount University.<\/p>

Why Statement: <\/strong>I believe that every student is capable of greatness\u2014and that every educator plays a critical role in helping them see it. I do this work because I was once the student who needed someone to believe in me, to hold me accountable, and to remind me that I had something valuable to offer. After graduating from VCU Mrs. Hart began her career as an English teacher in Hampton.\u00a0 During that time, she went to William and Mary to earn her Masters in School Counseling.\u00a0 As a school counselor, she worked in Williamsburg for 23 years, nine of those as the Counseling Department Chair at Lafayette High School.\u00a0 Mrs. Hart is excited to join Chesterfield County Schools as a Meadowbrook Monarch!<\/p>
