Falling Creek Middle School is located on Hopkins Road in Chesterfield County, on a site rich in the county\u2019s educational history. In 1621, John Berkeley began Virginia\u2019s first industrial community. He and his crew were sent from the Virginia Company to develop the ironworks at Falling Creek, between the James river and what became the Petersburg Turnpike. It was deemed a perfect location, \u201cas if nature had applied herself to the wish and direction of the workmen,\u201d wrote George Sandys. Sadly, the Indian massacre of March 22, 1622, put an unexpected end to this endeavor. Falling Creek runs from the James River in the east, just north of Drewry\u2019s Bluff, to the Salisbury\/Midlothian area in the northwestern part of the county.<\/p>

Falling Creek Junior High School\u2013now called Falling Creek Middle School\u2013was built in 1966. The school receives students from Bellwood, Bensley, Beulah, Falling Creek, Hening, and Hopkins elementary schools, for grades 6 \u2013 8, and sends them to Bird and Meadowbrook high schools for grades 9 \u2013 12.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
