Don’t underestimate the importance of having fun participating in school activities. Some of the best times and memories students have are the experiences of belonging to a club or participating in an after school activity. Clubs and activities are important to join just for the enjoyment that they will bring to most students, but they also allow the students to more easily make friends because the groups are small and they get to be themselves!
Clubs and activities provide students with many positive experiences that help them to become well-rounded individuals who are ready for college or the workplace. It helps students to become active in their school and to feel a connection the school and to others. It provides a sense of pride and school spirit and it is a positive influence on our youth today.
Choir is an after school club for students in grades 3-5 in the fall, and grades 2-5 in the spring. The Choir practices and performs for the first 3 quarters of the school year. Students are required to complete an interest form and have parent permission.
Students learn the basics of being a successful singer, and prepare for performances including Hispanic Heritage Presentation, Jingle Round the Creek, Black History Month
This club is led by Teacher Wilson and Mrs. Rascoe.
This will be a year-long opportunity for students to explore the world of photography, journalism, and storytelling while helping preserve the memories of the school year. This will start in September for students who get accepted in grade levels 3rd-5th. Students have to apply to participate. Applications are reviewed by the Yearbook Staff and selected with a recommendation letter from their teacher and signed participation form from their guardian.
Students learn the fundamentals of photography, including camera operation, composition, lighting, and how to capture meaningful candid moments throughout the school. Members also develop journalism and media production skills by conducting interviews, writing scripts, and creating content for our daily news broadcast, Panther Press Live. Throughout the year, students work collaboratively to document school events and transform their photos and stories into the annual school yearbook.
