            Chesterfield County Public Schools broke ground for Deep Creek Elementary in November 2024, and Principal Dr. Courtney Jones and her team will welcome the first students August 24, 2026. Budgeted for $52 million as part of the Virginia Public School Authority bond referendum, Deep Creek Elementary was completed on time and under budget.\u00a0<\/p>

            Built for 1,000 students, the first floor of the 111,500-square-foot school will hold younger grades and special education classrooms, and the second floor will house older grades. Both floors will include conference rooms, teacher workrooms and offices. A gymnatorium, cafeteria, media center, art room, music room and STEAM maker space will be located on the first floor. At the main entrance, the security vestibule will be flanked by administrative offices.<\/p>

            The new school\u2019s attendance zone includes students previously zoned to attend Grange Hall Elementary, Moseley Elementary and Woolridge Elementary. The school mascot is the Foxes, and school colors are teal, orange, and gray.<\/p>

            Security features include a secure vestibule, cameras, motion sensors, card access readers, key management and fencing. Additional features include 75-inch interactive monitors in all classrooms; flexible common space in each wing; dedicated wi-fi throughout the building; LED lighting; water bottle stations; ample storage in each classroom; and touchless lavatories and flush sensors in restrooms.\u00a0<\/p>

            Site improvements include vehicular and pedestrian connections to John Thomas Way, including turn lanes; large teacher and staff parking lot with a parent drop-off loop; separate school bus entrance and drop-off loop; playgrounds; athletic fields; and stormwater management features.\u00a0<\/p>

            School and community leaders cut a blue ribbon to officially open Deep Creek Elementary School on July 30, 2026.
