Don\u2019t underestimate the importance of having fun participating in school activities. Some of the best times and memories students have are the experiences of belonging to a club or participating in an after school activity. Clubs and activities are important to join just for the enjoyment that they will bring to most students, but they also allow the students to more easily make friends because the groups are small and they get to be themselves!<\/p>

Clubs and activities provide students with many positive experiences that help them to become well-rounded individuals who are ready for college or the workplace. It helps students to become active in their school and to feel a connection the school and to others. It provides a sense of pride and school spirit and it is a positive influence on our youth today.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Disney Musicals in School (3rd-5th)<\/strong>– The Disney Musicals in Schools program is a grant provided in conjunction with Disney and the VA Repertory Theater.\u00a0 Students attend after school rehearsals, where they learn how to sing, dance, and act.\u00a0 Crestwood’s 2023 production was The Jungle Book Kids musical, the 2024 production was Aladdin Kids, and the 2025 production was Finding Nemo.\u00a0 Admission to the musical is ticketed, for more information please reach out to Mr. Coyle.\u00a0<\/p>

Recorder Concert (4th)<\/strong>– The 4th grade recorder concert is a chance for all 4th grade students to perform short pieces on stage to demonstrate what they have learned on the recorder during the school year.\u00a0 Learning to play the recorder is a tradition upheld for all 4th graders across Chesterfield County Public Schools.\u00a0 The concert admission is free and families of 4th grade students are encouraged to attend.\u00a0 For more information please reach out to Mr. Coyle, Crestwood Music Teacher.<\/p>

Field day (PreK-5th) <\/strong>– Field day gives our students a day to participate in fun filled activities.\u00a0Volunteers\u00a0oversee\u00a0games as students rotate with partners. For more information, please contact Mr. Regetz, Crestwood PE Teacher.<\/p>

Winterfest –\u00a0<\/strong>Winterfest is a celebration of the incredible community that we have here at Crestwood.\u00a0 Join us for games, cake contests and giveaways, in a carnival style. The PTA sponsors\u00a0Kona Ice for all students and staff. For more information, please contact the PTA.\u00a0<\/p>

Heritage Night –<\/strong>\u00a0Heritage Night is a great way to celebrate Crestwood Elementary School’s uniquely diverse student and parent population. Sign up to bring decor, artifacts and\/or food to represent your heritage, share a cultural tradition, or just bring your family for an evening\u00a0of great food and entertainment. Heritage Night is held once a year.\u00a0 For more information, please contact the PTA.<\/p>

Math Night (PreK-5th) –\u00a0<\/strong>Join us at Crestwood for a night of fun and games with the whole family!\u00a0 Math night games are designed for elementary\u00a0school aged students and their families, but mathletes of all ages have tested these games out and enjoyed them. Math Night is held once a\u00a0 year in the fall. For more information, please reach out to Mrs. Leech, Crestwood Title I Math Teacher.<\/p>

Nature Fair –<\/strong>\u00a0The Crestwood Nature Fair is an outdoor event for the whole school. The Nature Fair combines nature-related\u00a0exhibitions with a plant sale and then also adds crafting opportunities, vendor tables, food trucks for\u00a0 an overall fun time. Spring Dance –\u00a0<\/strong>School-wide, family dancing event held in the Spring. For more information, please contact the PTA.<\/p>

Book Fair –\u00a0<\/strong>The book fair at Crestwood is a wonderful way to engage students in recreational reading, which research\u00a0has shown can improve reading scores.\u00a0 More importantly, the fair is all about the joy of discovery and the power of choice for students.\u00a0 Fairs are also meant to inspire love of reading among children as they learn the difference between borrowing a book from the library and owning a special book from the fair.\u00a0 Profits go directly to the library program and enable the librarian to purchase new materials, keeping the collection up to date and relevant for all students. 5th Grade Clubs –\u00a0<\/strong>Here at Crestwood we strive to create a community where each student not only feels like they belong, but also feel they have something to contribute to our school. Our 5th graders have the opportunity each year to take on a job. They get to choose between Safety Patrol, Kindness Club, Ambassador, Birthday Squad, Series Helpers, Crest Fest Helpers and Garden Club. Each of these jobs help our school in different ways from welcoming our new students with a tour by our Ambassadors to receiving your birthday gift from our Birthday Squad. Our Crest Fest helpers help lead our school assembly each month while the Kindness club does all things kindness from special projects to helping with needs around the school. Our safety patrol ensures students are following expectations on the bus loop and our Series help are busy little bees in the morning helping with all things Series Reading. We love to see our 5th graders embrace their roles and take on various responsibilities throughout the school.\u00a0 For more information\u00a0please contact Ms. Jordan Edens, School Counselor.<\/p>

Before School Run Club –<\/strong>\u00a0 Run Club provides 1st-5th graders an opportunity to learn the benefits\u00a0of running and learn techniques to be successful runners. The club occurs from September through November then picks back up in March and goes through May.
