Mr. Brian Russell, Principal<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Brian Russell grew up in Chesterfield County where he attended Salem Church Elementary, Salem Middle, and graduated from L.C. Bird High School. He then taught at Salem Middle for 14 years before moving into administration at L. C. Bird. He was an assistant principal at Monacan High School for 8 years before he became the principal of CTC@Hull where he now serves as principal for both campuses of the Tech Center.<\/p>

He has dedicated 31\u00a0 years in education with Chesterfield County as a Technology Education teacher and Administrator. His strong desire to support the Technical Centers comes from his passion for the career and technical education programs. As a former contractor, he understands the value of learning a skilled trade and being exposed to career opportunities at an early age.<\/p>

The Tech Center stands on three pillars of student engagement. The first is to create a safe and nurturing environment for all students. The second is to provide a career experience that models our workforce and our community. Finally, we build relationships to help our students become college or career ready.<\/p>

Dr. \u200b\u200bRyan Devlin\u200b, Associate Principal<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Devlin has a professional passion for career and technical education. He enjoyed his high school carpentry class at Forbes Road Career and Technical Center and has carried that experience with him throughout his professional career. Dr. Devlin got his start as a wood and metal shop teacher at Varina High School before becoming an Assistant Principal at Charlottesville High School. During these years, he earned his bachelor\u2019s degree in Technology Education from California University of Pennsylvania, and his Master\u2019s and Doctorate degrees in Education Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. He then finally found his calling at Chesterfield Career and Technical Center. Dr. Devlin takes pride in his track record of breaking down barriers between students and academic opportunities. He considers himself a true advocate for students, the trades, and preparing young people for the workforce. In his free time, Dr. Devlin enjoys tackling home improvement projects and spending time with his wife and daughter.<\/p>

Mrs. Angela Karousos\u200b, Associate Principal<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Mrs. Angela Karousos is the proud daughter of parents who immigrated to the United States from Athens, Greece to pursue the American dream. She was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia where she worked in the restaurant and catering industry during high school and while pursuing her college education.\u00a0 Mrs. Karousos is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned and received her Bachelor of Science, Master of Teaching and Post-Master\u2019s Certificate in Educational Leadership. She is a 24 year veteran in education having held school based and district level positions all within Chesterfield County Public Schools. Her educational background includes leadership and instruction, career and technical education, professional development,\u00a0 special education and technology. Mrs. Karousos brings many experiences that foster and promote learning, achievement, and prides herself with building relationships as her students have always been top priority.\u00a0 She believes that our Career and Technical Center is an amazing opportunity that provides invaluable experiences and post secondary outcomes to include leadership opportunities, work-based learning, dual enrollment courses, an advanced placement course, earning industry credentials, learning soft skills, learning professionalism and direct career paths to name a few. It is her belief that all of these opportunities and experiences promote our students to be productive citizens that are life ready and contribute positively to society. Mrs. Karousos enjoys spending time with her family and friends,\u00a0 traveling, reading and polishing her culinary skills.<\/p>

Dushunna Scott\u200b, Assistant Principal<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Dushunna Scott grew up in South Hill, Virginia, and attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools. She began her career in education in 2018 as a Criminal Justice instructor at Amelia-Nottoway Technical Center in Jetersville, Virginia. In 2020, she transitioned to Hopewell High School, where she continued teaching Criminal Justice. During her time with Hopewell Public Schools, Mrs. Scott was honored with the “Best of the Best” award for the 2022\u20132023 school year by the Hopewell Public Schools Foundation in recognition of her commitment to excellence in education. In 2023, Mrs. Scott joined Chesterfield County Public Schools as a Criminal Justice instructor at Carver College and Career Academy before advancing to Dean of Students at CTC Courthouse. As Dean of Students, she was passionate about building meaningful relationships with students and staff, fostering a positive school culture and climate, and partnering with teachers to enhance instructional practices that promote student learning and success. She remains committed to supporting high-quality instruction, student achievement, and career readiness while removing barriers to success, and creating learning environments where every student has the opportunity to reach their highest potential. Mrs. Scott is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice w\/ a concentration in Forensic Crime Scene Investigation along with a Master of Education and Post-Master\u2019s Certificate in Educational Leadership from Averett University. Prior to her career in education, Mrs. Scott served as a Corrections Officer and later as a Master Deputy Sheriff with the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, where she developed a strong foundation in leadership, mentorship, and public service.<\/p>

Nykia Ward, Dean of Students<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ms. Nykia Ward proudly serves as Dean of Students at CTC Courthouse with nearly a decade of experience in Chesterfield County Public Schools. She began her educational career as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Midlothian High School for two years and then seven years as an Adaptive Special Education Teacher at Clover Hill High School. During her time in CCPS, she has focused on building strong relationships with students, families, and staff while supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student.<\/p>

Ms. Ward believes that all students can achieve success when they feel valued, connected, and supported by caring adults who believe in their potential. Her leadership is grounded in collaboration, inclusion, and high expectations, ensuring that all students feel empowered to achieve their goals while remaining passionate about building a school culture committed to these principles of student success.<\/p>

Ms. Ward holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Counseling with a minor in Psychology from Old Dominion University. She earned both a Master of Science in Public Administration and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Wilmington University and completed her Teacher Licensure Program in Special Education K\u201312 with an endorsement in Adaptive Curriculum through Old Dominion University. She is currently completing her Administration and Supervision endorsement at Longwood University while attending Walden University pursuing her Doctor of Education (Ed.D).\u00a0<\/p>

Outside of school, Ms. Ward enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. She is the proud mother of two daughters, including a recent Chesterfield County Public Schools graduate and a current middle school student.<\/p>

Karen Golden grew up in Virginia Beach where she graduated from Princess Anne High School and then received her Bachelor of the Arts in Speech Communication from Old Dominion University.\u00a0 She is a career changer who worked in various IT positions in banking and government before returning to school receiving her Master of Education in Counselor Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.\u00a0 Before coming to CCTC, Ms. Golden was a School Counselor at Matoaca High School for nine years.\u00a0 She is very excited to support students on their path to their career through the Tech Center.<\/p>
