This two-year course includes routine automotive service facility practices, preventative maintenance procedures, customer relations, and shop safety. Students will study brakes, steering and suspension systems, automatic transmissions, and manual transmissions/drivetrains before advancing to study electrical systems (including starting and charging), engine repair, engine performance, and heating/ventilation/air conditioning. Students can potentially earn their Virginia State Inspection License. Through the ASE Education Foundation, an opportunity also exists for qualifying students to apprentice full-time at an automotive repair facility in the summer after the first school year and part-time during the second school year.

This is an Honors level Program.

Dual Enrollment credits may be available for eligible students.
