LC Bird Theatre presents 2-3 productions each year: A fall full-length play, winter one-act plays, and spring musical. As performers, crew, or even student-directors, students learn how to produce a play from auditions to final performance. Participation in one show neither requires nor guarantees participation in another.
Participation in LC Bird Theatre after-school shows requires a time commitment similar to a sports team. Rehearsal is held almost every day after school, but individual attendance requirements are determined by a student’s role. Plays generally rehearse for 6 weeks, one-acts for approximately 4 weeks, and musicals rehearse for 8 weeks.
Openings for performers and crew are announced in advance. Student must pick up an audition form/crew application from the Theatre classroom and return them, signed by the student and a parent/guardian by the due date.
