School Hours:<\/strong> 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.<\/p>

A bell rings at 8:10 a.m. each morning allowing students to enter the building. Students who do not ride the bus should arrive no earlier than 8:10 a.m. Students will begin to be dismissed from school at 2:55 p.m. (this also includes daycare and car riders). Alberta Smith Elementary School opened it\u2019s doors on Sept. 7, 1994. Our school was named after Alberta F. Smith. Miss Smith attended Stoney Creek School and finished high school as valedictorian at age 15. She attended Westhampton College, UVA, and when she decided to be a teacher, she went to James Madison University.<\/p>

For 44 years she taught, guided, and grew to care for the children and community of Ettrick Elementary School. Spending 36 of those years as Principal, she watched the children develop into adulthood and become parents themselves.<\/p>
